The game’s mechanics aim to offer a balance between action drafting, tile placement and set collection. Each player starts with an empty garden board, which they aim to fill with various plants to attract as many insects as possible. The players’ decisions will influence both the appearance of their gardens and their final scores, but there are multiple paths to victory.
At the core of the game is the selection of gardening tools linked to specific action spaces on the action board; each tool allows players to take two elements from the supply. Although these elements can be arranged on the player’s garden board in any way, they must be placed according to certain rules to create sets and earn points at the end of the game. After placing the elements, the player performs the action corresponding to their selected tool, which can involve fluttering insects, moving a water drop, taking a leaf, or jumping their frog in the pond. The player’s turn ends with refilling the action board with a new tool and placing the used tool in their tool pot.
